A Dialogue with Acclaimed French Writer Laurent Binet

Screen Shot 2013-11-07 at 10.16.51 AMThe Departments of History and Romance, German, Russian Languages & Literatures are proud to present “Historical Fiction at War with Itself,” a dialogue in English with French writer Laurent Binet.

On November 26 at 6 p.m. in AS 384, Professor and postmodern novelist Laurent Binet will discuss his first novel HHhH, which has earned him the prestigious Prix Goncourt du Premier Roman and international acclaim.

Binet is a professor of French Literature at the University of Paris III. His novel is a remarkable and surprising fast-paced World War II novel that was adapted for the stage and performed at the Théâtre de la Commune in Aubervilliers in 2012. The book has been short-listed for several prizes, including the National Book Critics Circle Award, and was selected as one of The New York Times’ Notable Books of 2012.
