The American Academy of Arts and Sciences Commission on the Humanities & Social Sciences presents the film The Heart of the Matter to further the conversation on the humanities’ and social sciences’ significance to our nation’s educational future.

The Commission on the Humanities & Social Sciences is an initiative to strengthen instruction of the humanities and social sciences across K-12 and two- and four-year colleges. As the educational value of the humanities continues to decline, the commission seeks to assert the humanities’ and social sciences’ professional value globally and develop strong leaders.
