CSULB Russian Club: Film Screening — “The House with Knights”

This is the last of three films that make up the Russian Club’s Spring 2012 Russian Film Series.

Film title: The House with Knights

Director: Marina Goldovskaya (1993) 58 min

This is the story of 20th-century Russia as told by residents of a historic apartment building located on Moscow’s famous Arbat Street. Built in the early 1900s, this grand apartment building housed the rich and privileged families. After the 1917 revolution, it was turned into a collective housing unit. The incredible story of this building comes to life through the director’s use of historical footage and the memories of former residents.

This film will be presented by Dr. Dmitrii Sidorov.
