CSULB Russian Club: Film Screening — “The Russian Concept”

This is the second of three films that make up the Russian Club’s Spring 2012 Russian Film Series.

Film title: The Russian Concept

The Russian Concept is a documentary that explores art created in resistance to the government-imposed style of Socialist Realism from the 1950s to the 1980s. This forbidden form of art is featured in the film by several Russian nonconformist artists whose works are considered great masterpieces and classic examples of world conceptual art.

This film will be presented by Dr. Andrew Jenks.
