The Chicana/o Latina/o Studies Student Association is a collective of CHLS students who seek to create more opportunities and resources for CHLS majors and minors, and the Chicana/o Latina/o student population at Cal State Long Beach. We believe education is a human right. We are self-determined to protect that right by keeping the CHLS department alive and active despite the struggles we may face going forward. Amidst budget cuts, CHLSSA also stands in solidarity with other ethnic studies departments who are fighting their right to exist at Cal State Long Beach and throughout the United States.
