His scholarly and teaching interests included Latin American and Caribbean Literature, African and African American Literature, Postcolonial Literature, Surrealism, Jazz, and mythology. He contributed to the creation of courses that are still part of the CWL curriculum, such as “Film and Novel in Society” and “Art and Literature.” For years, Dr Bush accompanied students to the annual Zora Neale Hurston conference in Baltimore, where they gave talks and won prizes.
