Welcome To Our New English MA Students!

On Wednesday, August 19, 2020, the English department hosted an orientation for our new MA students. Like everything these days, it was online, of course. Of the ca. 35 students admitted to the program, 28 were able to attend, introduce themselves, and ‘meet’ the faculty present. It was especially inspiring to hear all the books our students have been reading, from Wilkie Collins’s Woman in White to Colson Whitehead’s The Underground Railroad, from Zora Neale Hurston’s Barracoon to Cherrie Moraga’s Native Country of the Heart, from Madeline Miller’s Song of Achilles to Brandon Taylor’s Real Life. The new MA students also learned about curricular, extracurricular, and professional opportunities in the program. The English department is excited to welcome the new MA students!
