Dr. Lee Brown

Dr. Lee Brown taught at CSULB from 1998 to 2010, where his main areas of focus in teaching and research were press criticism, media law, and mass media and society. Before joining the faculty, he worked as a reporter and editor at the Long Beach Independent, Long Beach Press-Telegram, San Diego Union, Washington Star and Orange County Evening News, and as a reporter/newscaster at KXIC-AM in Iowa City, Iowa. He previously taught at San Diego State University, the University of Maryland and Buffalo State College (SUNY) and is the author of The Reluctant Reformation: On Criticizing the Press in America. Dr. Brown received his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa.
