Jennifer Newton

Jennifer Newton is a seasoned public relations professional specializing in digital media and integrated marketing communications. Her experience and skills include business development, team management, public relations, corporate communications, cause marketing, internal communications, branding, human resources, event planning, blogging, content development and copywriting. Throughout her career, Newton has worked with and for notable clients such as Murad Skincare, Michael Stars, Mazda, Nissan, City of Hope, the American Cancer Society, Revlon Run/Walk, Hill + Knowlton and Impact Giving.

At CSULB, Newton teaches public relations classes and serves as a department academic adviser. She is also the business, advertising and public relations adviser for Beach Media, the business office for the Daily Forty-Niner, DIG magazine, DÍG en Español and Beach TV News. Additionally, Newton has served as the faculty adviser for CSULB’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter, and she coached the nationally ranked 2018 Bateman Case Study Competition Team.

Newton received her bachelor’s degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in psychology from California State University, Long Beach, and is currently working on earning her MBA from CSULB. Additionally, she holds a degree in apparel manufacturing management from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles. She lives in Long Beach with her husband, daughter, dog and cat.
