The Link Entertainment: The Link Entertainment seeks applicants for a remote internship focused on social media. Through the internship, you will gain hands-on experience in social media content creation, including crafting engaging posts, designing graphics, and producing videos tailored to specific platforms. The intern will learn to effectively schedule content, analyze performance metrics, and adjust strategies to improve audience engagement. Additionally, the intern will develop an understanding of how social media contributes to overall marketing strategies and brand visibility, while staying updated on industry trends and best practices. Kids Sports News Network: KSNN is a national youth sports broadcast network looking for a youth sports journalist intern. Your task would be to research, document, write, and present national youth sports news stories in an honest, ethical, and unbiased way. Besides the pressures of working on deadlines and getting stories out ahead of the competition, your stories must be balanced, giving all parties a chance to have their say. Los Angeles magazine: Los Angeles magazine is looking for detail-oriented, thorough, resourceful, intuitive, and determined self-starter students with excellent communication skills to intern in its editorial department. Responsibilities include fact-checking, conducting research, and submitting story ideas with the possibility of writing them. Fact-checking is not always as easy as it sounds. You may need to contact the celebrity of the moment or outwit a word-savvy politician. In researching subjects, you’d work directly with writers and editors in putting stories together (which may include doing some reporting). PICK6 Flag Football SoCal:  A league serving San Pedro and surroundings areas, PICK6 Flag Football SoCal is looking for a social media intern. The successful candidate has strong communication skills, is creative, and understands different social media platforms. As an intern, you would create Reels, Stories, videos, and posts using company owned collateral; select music that appeals to the target audience of youth athletes, parents and other sports leagues; and post content that helps grow followers. Ragdoll PR: This boutique fashion, beauty and lifestyle PR agency located in Manhattan Beach seeks applicants for a spring internship. Ragdoll seeks a commitment of at least three months for 15 hours per week. Successful candidates must have an interest in fashion and beauty. This unpaid internship will satisfy requirements for academic credit. Responsibilities would include designing social media content; monitoring print, digital press and blogger press; preparing gifting materials for stylists, editors and influencers; researching digital influencers for potential partnerships; and writing or pitching press releases. Claims Journal: Claims Journal and its other business news media outlets are seeking spring interns interested in journalism (and a handful of good bylines). Interns will contribute to newsgathering while learning about business reporting from experienced editors of three different news websites. You will write assigned briefs as well as interview subject-matter experts, attorneys, and business executives for deadline stories. You’ll also work on longer enterprise articles that follow trends and developments. Work hours are pretty much on your own schedule in this remote (virtual) internship. Students who have some familiarity with AP style and have completed at least one basic news writing course (such as JOURN 120) are strongly preferred. Rachel Dares PR: This full-service PR and marketing agency based in Orange County is seeking enthusiastic interns to join its team. The interns will craft compelling press materials; conduct research to compile lists of local, national, and international news outlets and influencers; create engaging graphics and write captivating copy for clients’ accounts for social media platforms; and monitor and analyze social media campaigns. County of Orange:   The County of Orange is seeking candidates to serve as a social media/media relations intern. Duties will include assisting in the preparation and distribution of press releases, event planning; assisting with department newsletter, and posting updates to the department’s Intranet. The internship requires 12 to 15  hours per week. Hours can be scheduled in 3- to 8-hour blocks of time during regular business hours. EdSource: EdSource is seeking college student journalists with backgrounds in reporting or editing who want to hone their skills, build their résumés and prepare for the job market. As part of EdSource’s California Student Journalism Corps, you have opportunities to collaborate with some of the most seasoned education reporters in California. Interns will learn from professional journalists and earn a stipend of $1,000. College internship credit also is available. The part-time internship is all remote, though when possible, students interview subjects in person at their own campuses or nearby. Girls’ Life: Do you have a passion for writing, fashion, beauty and entertainment? Join the Girls’ Life team to gain hands-on experience in the world of digital media and content creation. As an intern with Girls Life, you’ll brainstorm content ideas, write articles and assist with social media. This internship requires about 10-15 hours per week and is non-paid. Los Angeles Council District 8: Councilmember Harris-Dawson’s office is looking for energetic, creative and self-motivated interns to join its team and help serve council district eight, which covers parts of South Los Angeles. Live Nation Entertainment: Femme It Forward is seeking a social media creative intern.  The intern will research, curate, and develop engaging social content that resonates with targeted fans of specific artists and genres; assist with brainstorming big ideas on upcoming events and project; help measure social strategy across multiple channels; and assist with the development and implementation of social strategy across Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. Velvet Hammer: Velvet Hammer Music and Management Group, located in West Hollywood, is seeking detail-oriented self-starters who are resourceful. Intern responsibilities include assisting with creative marketing strategies, researching new and up-and-coming artists, and helping with day-to-day artists relations. Sony Pictures: Sony’s Game Shows Division is seeking a design intern. In this paid internship, you will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, and many educational and social networking opportunities. The design intern will help the team’s designers and editors execute strategic design solutions for social and digital asset creation for Sony’s main brands and IPs. This spring internship is from January through May 30th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work part-time hours (10-29 a week). Learn more and apply through the Sony Pictures Career portal.

The Standard Stitch: Based in Newport Beach, The Standard Stitch is hiring a public relations intern to support its growing team. Califia Farms: Califia, one of the leading plant-based beverage brands, is looking to hire a talented, self-motivated individual for a paid internship. The influencer and PR intern will support the development and execution of influencer marketing and public relations strategy. GoodRx: A digital publication that covers consumer healthcare, GoodRx seeks journalism students to apply for three editorial internships. All of the internships are paid and would last six months. One intern would focus on writing, another would focus on copy editing, and third would focus on search engine optimization. The internship can be based on-site in the Santa Monica office, remote, or a hybrid of office and remote work. Disneyland Resort: As an intern on the Disneyland Resort Public Relations Team, you will get to share exciting Disney news with journalists around the world! In this one-of-a-kind role, you’ll be immersed in all facets of PR — from media relations, writing, and events to the business behind the magic — things like strategy, integrated communications, and, of course, showcasing success. The Walt Disney Company: D23: The Official Disney Fan Club seeks candidates for a paid internship that begins in January. The D23 Partnerships Professional Intern will have a one-of-a-kind opportunity to work directly with the team who manages and drives sponsorships and partnerships with D23. As an intern, you will work with the D23 Sponsorship team, contributing to communications, project management, and partnerships. The pay rate for this internship based in California is $22 per hour. Wasserman: This position will report to the Athlete Content Manager on the Athlete Exchange team. This team helps manage and create branded and organic content for the digital properties of Wasserman athletes, as well as pitch and manage branded athlete content projects that include commercial production shoots, paid media management, and custom graphics or imagery creation. Please note: This is an unpaid internship with a time commitment of 15 – 20 hours per week. Insomniac: Do you enjoy dance music? Are you passionate about public relations? Then you’re in luck! Insomniac is looking for two public relations interns in two separate groups. Insomniac produces some of the most innovative, immersive music festivals and events in the world. Both internships pay $18 per hour, but they involve different time commitments. PBS SoCal: PBS SoCal is looking for a public relations candidate for its spring internship. If you are looking to hone your PR and communications skills, then apply today! Segerstrom Center for the Arts: This world-class performing arts center in Costa Mesa has launched applications for paid academic internships for spring 2025. Opportunities include internships in community engagement, digital marketing, general marketing, graphic design, public relations, and social media. These internships are for 120 hours over 12 weeks and pay $16.50 per hour. Warner Bros. Discovery: The U.S. Networks Digital Video team seeks applicants for a paid internship. The U.S. Networks Digital Video team operates in a fast-paced environment, with team members managing multiple projects simultaneously across various brands. The intern will participate in brainstorms, input production calendars into project management systems and organize video assets, among other tasks. The 12-week internship program starts in late January, offers a competitive hourly wage and involves working 16 to 24 hours per week in a hybrid capacity. The deadline to apply is Sunday, Oct. 20. CNN: Newsgathering is at the heart of what CNN does for its audience on television and digital. Working in the Los Angeles bureau of CNN the newsgathering intern will work closely with the producers, editors, and reporters in the process of collecting, reporting, writing, and editing news content for the network’s different platforms. The position will put the successful candidate at the center of the news on the West Coast and introduce them to the reporting process at a leading global news organization. Los Angeles Angels: The Los Angeles Angels are looking for resourceful and eager candidates to fill Internships in the following departments: communications, community relations, sponsorship services and special events. Los Angeles Times: The Los Angeles Times’ spring internship is structured to allow students the flexibility to gain experience while continuing their education. The internship can be either part-time or full-time depending on the student’s schedule. Interns can start between January and March. Last spring, interns were paid $18.50 an hour. The entire internship is a total of 400 hours, which is equal to a 10-week internship at 40 hours a week or a 20-week internship at 20 hours a week. Applicants for the reporting positions must have a valid driver’s license and access to a car in good working condition. (A car is not required for the Editorial Pages.)  Legendary Entertainment: Legendary is seeking an intern to assist its fast-paced Nerdist Editorial department. Nerdist Editorial oversees the daily operations and long-term editorial strategy of Nerdist.com. In addition to working closely with the executives and members of the team, interns will have the opportunity to attend guest speaker sessions, networking events and screenings.  Miller Ink: Miller Ink, a rapidly expanding public relations firm, is seeking highly motivated interns skilled in writing, proofreading, research, content development, social media, and project management. All interns will receive exposure to, and experience in, a wide variety of communications projects and will work with prominent advocacy groups, businesses, and nonprofits. This is a part-time position in West Los Angeles, which does require time in office. Regular hours are required but can be set according to the intern’s schedule. CBS News Internships: The CBS News Summer Internship Program offers endless ways to explore careers through an immersive 10-week, well-rounded paid program in Los Angeles that encourages journalism students to bring their passions and insights to work. Most importantly, the program acts as a pipeline for future opportunities. CBS News is the news and information division of CBS, dedicated to providing the highest quality journalism under standards it pioneered and continues to set in today’s digital age. The Scripps Howard Fund: The Scripps Howard Fund is accepting internship applications for its nonprofit newsrooms program through Friday, Jan. 31. Scripps Howard Fund partners with 13 different Institute for Nonprofit News member newsrooms around the country to place dynamic interns into paid positions for 10 weeks during the summer 2025. H/Advisors Abernathy: A leading strategic communications advisor, H/Advisors Abernathy is providing paid summer internship opportunities in its New York, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., offices. This 10-week paid summer program focuses on providing insight into the world of strategic communications through introductions to our key practice areas, the opportunity to work with client teams on intricate, business critical issues and training on the advanced tools and practices that power our business. The program begins June 2, 2025, and continues through August 8, 2025. NBC News: The NBCUniversal Internship Program allows students to contribute to big projects in meaningful ways. Internships are available with NBC News, Telemundo and affiliated stations. These paid internships include robust networking, learning and development opportunities; complimentary Peacock subscription during your internship; and free admission to Universal Parks during your internship. San Diego Padres: The summer internship program with the San Diego Padres is an extraordinary opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community relations, marketing and more at a first-class organization. Recruitment for the Summer Internship Program positions starts in the winter, and the selection process is highly competitive. The 10-week program starts in June. Television Academy Foundation: The Foundation offers paid eight-week full-time internships in broadcast journalism, entertainment news, public relations and more. Interns receive weekly evening professional development, including panels with television industry leaders, customized seminars on building their brand and navigating the job market ahead.
