ENYE
ENYE is the newly rebranded bilingual magazine at CSULB. Formerly known as DÍG En Español, we began in 2018 as a staff blog produced by students in Professor Teresa Puente’s bilingual journalism class. In 2019, we became the first Spanish-language journalism magazine in Long Beach. In 2023, we went fully bilingual to be accessible for non-Spanish speakers. As the publication has evolved, student staff felt it was time the name evolved as well, so, ENYE was born.
ENYE is the phonetic spelling of “ñ,” a letter present in many words in Spanish and our last names, but not in the English alphabet or on most keyboards. How many times have we sacrificed the “ñ” in our language for an “n” because it was “easier”? ENYE represents how proud we are to highlight our culture and our unwillingness to sacrifice it.
