Alumni Spotlight: Frank Mendoza

Frank Mendoza, BA, MA in Philosophy Classes of ‘22 and ‘25 

Frank earned his BA in Philosophy at CSULB in 2022, and then returned to complete the MA degree in 2025. As a graduate students, he earned the CLA equity scholar award in SP23, the Marie Whittington scholarship in FA23, and the academic excellence in philosophy award in SP25. During his time at CSULB, he had the privilege of earning valuable experience as a GA for three semesters, too, working alongside lecturers Amy Umaña and Michael Lara. Immediately after completing the MA, Frank was hired as a lecturer at Concordia University Irvine, where he teaches Introduction to Philosophy and Introduction to Philosophical Inquiry. In his free time, Frank enjoys long distance running, playing with modular synthesizers, reading, trying new vegan restaurants, and watching basketball.
