Alumni Spotlight: Kyle Kelly
Kyle Kelly, BA in Philosophy Class of ‘13
Kyle earned his BA in Philosophy and then completed an MA in Education and a California teaching credential. For the past twelve years, Kyle has taught fifth grade, dedicating himself to cultivating both academic excellence and strong character formation in his students. In 2026, he was recognized with the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Teacher of the Year award for the Diocese of Orange. Drawing on his background in philosophy, Kyle emphasizes critical thinking, self-examination, and open-minded inquiry in the classroom. He has developed a wide range of innovative instructional strategies that make learning both rigorous and engaging, while encouraging students to take ownership of their growth, discover the joy and value of learning, pursue their passions, and put their best effort into all that they do. Outside the classroom, Kyle enjoys playing beach flag football and co·ed softball, playing music, and spending time with his family—especially taking his daughters on outdoor adventures that foster curiosity, resilience, and joy.
