Proseminar: Plato, Descartes, Frege
Professor: Max Rosenkrantz
Mondays  ·  7:00pm–9:45pm  ·  LA1–304

This proseminar introduces graduate students to topics in the history of philosophy, and provides them with the basic skills they will need to succeed in an MA program. We will study the three great hinge figures in the history of philosophy: Plato, who introduces the picture that controls subsequent philosophical reflection; Descartes, who makes the first significant revision to that picture; and Frege, who tweaks the picture yet again.
