James Ahumada (BA 2011) is a legislative assistant to Congressman Henry A. Waxman in Washington, D.C.

Joey Becerra (BA 2007; MA 2009) is a Political and Military Analyst at the United States Department of Defense in Colorado Springs, CO.

Devin Benavidez (BA 2010) has worked in Washington, DC since graduation, most recently as a legislative aide to U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly of Indiana. This fall, he will begin pursuing his J.D. at Georgetown Law School.

Ian Calderon (BA 2008) is the Majority Leader of the California State Assembly.  He represents the 57th Assembly District.

Albert Chevez (BA 1994) earned his M.A. in Theological Studies and his M.A. in Education at Harvard University, in 1998 and 1999 (respectively). He is currently the Director of the Medical and Health Career Program at UC Riverside.

Allison Gallagher (BA 2014) is working for CA Assembly member Patrick O’Donnell in his district office.

Adrian Granda (BA 2007; MA 2011) is the Director of Legislative Affairs for the City of San Diego, under Council President Todd Gloria.

Edgar Gutierrez (BA 2010) works for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. In 2014, he will complete his Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Science at CSULB.

Brenda Ibanez (BA 2016) received her M.P.A. from the CSULB School of Public Administration in May 2018. She is also the founder and director of RFO, a non-profit organization dedicated to tutoring and mentoring at-risk youth.

Christian Kropff (BA 2016) operates his own consulting firm. After managing Supervisor Janice Hahn’s campaign and Measure MM, Mr. Kropff currently is serving as chief of staff for Long Beach Councilmember Jeannine Pearce

Kevin McCarty (BA 1995) was elected by a wide margin in fall 2014 to represent CA State Assembly District 7 (Sacramento).

Jamie McLaughlin (BA 2012) is Director of Special Projects for the 4th Council District in Long Beach, CA.

Tony Mendoza (BA 1994) was elected in fall 2014 to represent CA State Senate District 32 (northeast of Long Beach).

Jorge Morales (BA 2002) is the Mayor of South Gate, CA. Kurt Olsen (BA 1977) is in his sixth term in the Alaska House of Representatives.

Jose Ramos (BA 2006) is a Captain in the United States Army and served in Afghanistan.

Grant Raupp (MA 2007) is Community Development Analyst for the City of Garden Grove, CA.

Enrique Robles (BA 2007; MA, 2009) is a field representative for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Jon Rosine (BA 2007) is the Emergency Management and Preparedness Coordinator at CSULB.

Deborah Rowe (BA 2012) is the Office Manager and Executive Assistant to the Minority Whip of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Marisol Samayoa (BA 2016) is a communications deputy for Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia.

Elsa Villagrana (BA 2012) is the Administrative Support Coordinator for CSULB’s Dean of Students.

Thomas-Durell Young (BA 1976) is Program Manager for the Europe Center for Civil-Military Relations at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. He is also an Academic Associate for the Comparative Defense Planning Certificate in the Department of National Security Affairs.
