Antisemitism: Past and Present Teacher Training Summer Workshop

July 19 @ 8:00 am - July 22 @ 5:00 pm

We are pleased to announce that we will be resuming our annual summer teacher training workshop in July, from the 19th to the 22nd.  Due to continuing safety measures related to the pandemic, this year’s workshop will be conducted online.

Participants in this workshop will receive pedagogical training from experts on how to teach the Holocaust.  As always, the ADL will be partnering with us to provide participating teachers with their Echoes and Reflections materials.

As in years past, we will focus on a particular topic.  This year’s theme is “Antisemitism: Past and Present.”  We will have special guest lectures who will address the role of prejudice and antisemitism before and during the Holocaust, as well as its continuation to the present day and the phenomenon of Holocaust denial.

Guest speakers include Dr. Don Schwartz (Professor Emeritus from CSULB) and Dr. Brian Levin (Director of the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism).

Unlike prior years, this year’s workshop will only be held for four days (Monday through Thursday). However, we are increasing the honorarium for credentialed teachers to $500 (if you complete all four days of the workshop). Students enrolled in a credential program are eligible for a reduced honorarium of $300 if they complete the program.
