Film Series Screening of Oscar-Nominated "Omar"

October 1, 2014

CSULB students, with the LA/Islam Arts Initiative, present a series of Middle Eastern and Middle East-American movies, which showcase insightful filmmakers that show that whether you live in the Middle East or here, people still dream of the future. This series is co-sponsored by the departments of Middle Eastern Studies, History, Religious Studies, and Political Science.

Oscar-nominated Omar (2013) features a Palestinian freedom fighter named Omar, coerced into confessing the murder of an Israeli soldier. While being forced to cooperate with his investigators, his life and burgeoning romance with Nadja are ripped apart.

All films are free, and open to anyone wishing to attend!
