Fox News Political Analyst Juan Williams Gives Lecture at the Fifth-Annual Distinguished Speakers Series

The Fifth-Annual Distinguished Speakers Series was held on October 20th, 2011. The reception was held at the Pointe in the Walter Pyramid, followed by a keynote address given by Fox News Political Analyst Juan Williams. The topic of William’s address was “Muzzled: Political Debate in America.”

The College of Liberal Arts was once again a supporting sponsor of the Distinguished Speakers Series. The College believes that this event contributes to the mission of educating and effecting social change. Guests welcomed at the reception by Dean Gerry Riposa included Dr. Luster Hauth, founder of the Luster E. and Audrey Nichol Hauth Center for Communication Skills, Dr. Timothy Plax, Director of Luster E. and Audrey Nichol Hauth Center for Communication Skills, Dr. Pat Kearny, Professor of Communication Studies, Jim Warsham, President of the Long Beach Community Foundation, and Mrs. Patti Warsham.

Previous distinguished speakers include Michael Josephson, Founder and President of the Joseph and Edna Josephson Institute of Ethics, Seymour Hersh, acclaimed investigative reporter, William D. Cohan, former senior Wall Street banker and author, and Arianna Huffington, co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post.
