Guest Lecture: Clive Lawton — “The Truth About Europe”
January 23, 2012In cooperation with the Orange County One Month Community Scholar, the CSULB Jewish Studies Program is proud to host Clive Lawton on campus at the Karl Anatol Center on Tuesday, January 24th, at 7:30 PM. His topic is titled “The Truth About Europe.” Lawton describes his talk as follows:
“The common American view of life in Europe is that it is getting worse for Jews and is being overrun by Muslims. Come and hear the facts—and some challenging opinions—from someone who actually knows!”
Lawton was voted #18 in the UK’s Jewish “Power 100” list and awarded the Max Fisher International Prize for Jewish Education by the Jewish Agency in Jerusalem. In addition, he is an internationally active management and education consultant as well as Senior Consultant to Limmud, the internationally-renowned Jewish adult education movement (of which he was a founder in 1980 and Director from 1999-2006). He broadcasts and has written widely in the fields of religion, moral education, and religious education.
As always, Jewish Studies events are free and open to the public. Those wishing to park on campus will need to purchase a parking permit for $5 from one of the yellow vending machines located in lots 1, 11, 12, 13, 14, 18, and 20. The Anatol Center is on the ground floor of the Academic Services (AS) building, which is located next to the library on the south side of campus.
