Jewish Studies: Dr. Josh Kun, “Jews on Vinyl: American Jewish Pop Culture”

CSULB’s Jewish Studies Program is pleased to present Dr. Josh Kun, Associate Professor in the Annenberg School of Communication and the Department of American Studies and Ethnicity at USC, and director of The Popular Music Project at USC Annenberg’s The Norman Lear Center. He has worked for years to excavate lost treasures of Jewish-American music and is the co-author of And You Shall Know Us By The Trail of Our Vinyl: The Jewish Past as Told by the Records we have Loved and Lost (2010). An exhibition based on his work, “Jews on Vinyl,” appeared at the Skirball Cultural Center this summer.
