Masterclass: "Sweet Honey in the Rock"

September 19, 2011

Rooted in a deeply held commitment to create music out of the rich textures of African American legacy and traditions, Sweet Honey in the Rock possesses a stunning vocal prowess that captures the complex sounds of Blues, spirituals, traditional gospel hymns, rap, reggae, African chants, Hip Hop, ancient lullabies, and jazz improvisation. Sweet Honey’s collective voice, occasionally accompanied by hand-percussion instruments, produces a sound that is filled with soulful harmonies and intricate rhythms.

Sweet Honey in the Rock will lead a Masterclass with music students of the Cole Conservatory of Music at CSULB.

PLEASE NOTE: Space is very limited for this intimate event. If you are not an enrolled student in one of the participating classes and would like to attend, please contact Beto González at 562-985-7007 to inquire.
