The American Studies Student Association is a student organization that plans extracurricular programs and events related to American Studies. For information contact Brett Mizelle, director of American Studies, or check out the Association’s page on Facebook.

Every semester American Studies students are invited to go on a field trip to important cultural sites in Los Angeles. For example, every Spring a group of students in American Studies and History takes the Blue Line for a walking tour of Olvera Street, downtown Los Angeles and the Watts Towers. In the Fall semester students visit The Museum of Jurassic Technology and the Center for Land Use Interpretation in Culver City.
