Scholarship for students in the Spanish Program

September 1, 2023

The Spanish Program is the largest in the Department of Romance, German, Russian Languages and Literatures, serving 200 students enrolled in the undergraduate major, minor, certificate, and master’s programs. Even though the Spanish Program accounts for 60% of the total students in the department, it continues to have one of the smallest scholarship funds. With your participation, we will be able to grow that fund and offer our Spanish students well-deserved support in their academic endeavors.

Scholarship assistance is vital in attracting and retaining students who want to pursue a Spanish degree. Your gift will help us expand the Spanish Program Scholarship, build a community of friends and supporters, and empower our primarily working-class students who through their academic work represent so vividly the political, cultural, and linguistic realities of this country. This program plays an important role in our bilingual state through deep ties to local Spanish-speaking communities, offering CSULB student opportunities for professional development and real-world engagement via teacher preparation, internships, theater workshops, and participation in conferences and other academic events.

During Hispanic Heritage Month, we invite you to join us and make a gift in support of the Spanish Program Scholarship. ¡Gracias por su apoyo! Thank you for your support!
