The George L. Graziadio Center for Italian Studies and Club Italia: Guest Lecture by Dr. Arnold Schmidt

The George L. Graziadio Center for Italian Studies and Club Italia Present: Dr. Arnold Schmidt, author of Byron and the Rhetoric of Italian Nationalism.

During our “Building of an Italian Nation” course, Dr. Schmidt will talk about his book Byron and the Rhetoric of Italian Nationalism. His book explores the intellectual milieu of Byron’s Italian years, his participation in Grand Tour and salon culture, his influence on Italian Classicists and Romantics, and his importance in constructing Italy’s national identity.
