The George L. Graziadio Center for Italian Studies and Club Italia: Guest Lecture–Giuseppe Conte

Author of poetry, fiction, and essays, Giuseppe Conte has been one of the best regarded Italian poets since the Seventies. Among his collections of poetry, which often deal with the themes of myth and nature, are The Last White April, L’Oceano e il Ragazzo, The Seasons (winner of the 1988 Montale Prize), and Wounds and Reflorences (winner of the 2006 Viareggio, Carlo Betocchi and Alfonso Gatto prizes). Among his novels are The Third Officer in Command and The Adulteress. Conte gives poetry readings at the most important international universities and he contributes to several Italian newspapers and magazines.
