Decolonization and Design in South Asia

The Yadunandan Center for India Studies is proud to present a talk by Saloni Mathur from UCLA’s Department of Art and History titled:
“Decolonization and Design in South Asia”
Saloni Mathur is Professor and Chair of the Department of Art History at UCLA. She is author of India by Design: Colonial History and Cultural Display (UC Press, 2007) and A Fragile Inheritance: Radical Stakes in Contemporary Indian Art (Duke, 2019). She is also the editor of The Migrant’s Time: Rethinking Art History and Diaspora (Yale, 2011), and co-editor with Kavita Singh of No Touching, No Spitting, No Praying: The Museum in South Asia (Routledge, 2015).
The conversation will take place at the Anatol Center on November 3rd at 5:30 PM.
