“National Teach–In on the Presidential Executive Order Banning Muslims, Immigrants, and Refugees” – Feb. 8th, 1-3pm – AS-384

About the National Organizers:?

The principal organizers of the event include Arshad I. Ali, Assistant Professor of Educational Research at George Washington University; Maryam Kashani, Assistant Professor of Gender and Women’s Studies and Asian American Studies at the University of Illinois; and Shirin Vossoughi, Assistant Professor of Learning Sciences at Northwestern University. They work individually and collectively in the study and development of educational settings for youth from Muslim, migrant, immigrant, and diasporic backgrounds, with particular emphases on issues of race, gender, and social justice. Although this teach-in is primarily virtual (via Google hangouts), we encourage educators to participate with their classes, organize viewings, and host dialogue sessions in their schools or on their campuses.

Following this event, Dr. Sabrina Alimahomed will facilitate a follow up discussion with CSULB faculty, students, and staff.

This event is free and open to the public. Thanks for helping us spread the word about this event.
