Checkpoint 3: Text Adjustment

Transcripts

For the third checkpoint, text adjustment, you will be evaluating whether or not the text allows users to adjust its size and whether or not the text allows users to change the font color. This checkpoint separates the text size and text color elements separately. To score size adjustment, you need to open the EPUB file in Adobe Digital Editions and use the AA button in the top right corner to change the size of the text. You can also press the control and plus keys to increase the size of the text and you can press the control and minus keys to decrease the size of the text. For each page, if the text size changes with these tools, the page passes. If it does not, then that page fails. If portions of pages change, but others do not, you should consider this when scoring the checkpoint. Report the final score of pages passed to pages evaluated in the Ranking 1-10 column. Then report whether the checkpoint passes in the pass-fail column. Report all of this information in the detail column of the checklist, following this format. Then, copy the first two sentences of the detail column into the additional info cell. For text color adjustment, we don’t evaluate this checkpoint for NAT because it requires assistive technologies. So for this section of the checklist, we mark the pass-fail column as N/A and the ranking column should be empty. For the detail and additional info columns, you can just copy this description.
