The Transnational Feminist Solidarity Conference- April 18th & April 19th, 2024
April 18 - April 19
The Transnational Feminist Solidarities Committee invites you to the Transnational Feminist Solidarities Conference, which will take place on Thursday, April 18, and Friday, April 19, 2024, at CSULB.
Transnational feminisms offer a critique of Western-Eurocentric and liberal feminisms and simultaneously inform and emerge from various radical feminist frameworks including, but not limited to, women of color, postcolonial, anti-capitalist, anti-racist, and abolitionist feminisms. Invited speakers will offer critical analysis of our shared existence and how we might produce a more life-affirming world, contemplating how solidarity and collective action might be generated across geopolitical borders, identities, and subjectivities. Speakers include leading transnational feminist scholars and writers such as Chandra Talpade Mohanty, Ana Castillo, Margo Okazawa-Rey, Amira Jamakani, and Karma R. Chávez, among other dynamic feminist voices.
This conference is brought to you by many of our department faculty members and fellow students!
