- The first two weeks of the semester are busy times for advising; be ready with quick questions. Please hold any questions about adding major/minor or discussion of graduation school and/or careers for after the registration period.
The sociology department offers advising to assist undergraduate students with academic and career-related issues:

- Graduation requirements
- Post-graduate options and opportunities
- Other matters related to your sociology career here at CSULB

- Review your Academic Requirements Report (ARR) regularly. This ARR guide from Enrollment Services will show you how to access and understand your ARR.
ADDITIONAL ADVISING TIPS & RESOURCES:

- Sign up for the GPE. Be sure to sign up for the GWAR placement exam (GPE) by your first semester as a junior.
- Explore MINORS: College of Liberal Arts; College of Business; Health and Human Services; and New: Equity & Education Minor (flyer).
- Take a class at a community college while enrolled at CSULB: Supplemental Credit for Current CSULB Students. See “Other Ways to Earn Credit as a CSULB Student” on the Supplemental Credit site. Remember: a maximum of 70 community college units may be used toward the 120 units required for graduation.
- Take an online class from another CSU while enrolled at CSULB: CSULB Fully Online
