Freshman Mandatory Advising

Welcome to CLA’s Second Semester Freshman Mandatory Advising (FMA)!

The College of Liberal Arts looks forward to assisting our freshmen in planning and registering for Fall 2021! In order to have the “Prevent all Enrollment Actions” advising hold released and be able to register for your third semester, you are required to participate in Freshman Mandatory Advising.

Major Changes

  • If you no longer wish to pursue a CLA major, visit the Enrollment Services website to learn which Advising Center to contact for your Freshman Mandatory Advising.
  • If you are NOT currently a declared CLA major or pre-major and would like to change into one of our options, submit a Major Request form.

STEP 2: Choose your FMA Experience.

Complete your advising requirement by selecting ONE of the following options:

Submit Online Form

  • Submit your proposed Summer (if applicable) and Fall 2021 schedules via form
  • Receive a personalized Advising Plan from an advisor within 3 business days of submission via email

Book Appointment

  • Create a proposed Summer (if applicable) and Fall 2021 schedule
  • Book a 30-minute Zoom appointment with an advisor via Beach Connect
  • Attend advising appointment
  • Receive a personalized Advising Plan from an advisor within 24 hours of appointment via email
