2011 Chinese Film and Culture Festival

California State University, Long Beach is pleased to host, for the second time, the Chinese Film and Culture Festival from October 20th through 26th, 2011. This free, week-long event will focus on the unique intangible treasures of Tianjin province in China, and includes screenings of recent Chinese films as well as a cultural heritage and craft exhibit that features bottle-gourd painting, kites, stilt walking, and more.

The opening ceremony, to be held on Thursday, October 20th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Carpenter Performing Arts Center, will also include a performance by the Peking Opera Troupe and a Bian Lian (Face-Changing) performance. The Chinese band Gray Wolf will perform on Wednesday, October 26th at 7:00 PM. Please check the 2011 Chinese Film and Culture Festival website for updates on the location of the concert.

The event will be held in the CSULB Student Union and is open to the public.

The goal of this festival is to improve communication and understanding between China and the U.S. through cultural and artistic exchange.
