CSULB Russian Club: Film Screening — "Svetlana about Svetlana"

This is the first of three films that make up the Russian Club’s Spring 2012 Russian Film Series.

Film title: Svetlana about Svetlana

Director: Lana Parshina (2008) 44 minutes

In the film Svetlana about Svetlana, Joseph Stalin’s daughter (who recently passed away) discusses her childhood, her mother’s suicide, her brothers Vassily and Yakov, and of course her famous father who most Soviets saw as a “living god”. This documentary was filmed while she was living incognito in a retirement home in Wisconsin.

This film will be presented by Dr. Harold Schefsk.
