The Department of Geography: Film, "Cadillac Desert: Mulholland’s Dream"

Part of Geography Awareness Week (November 15-18, 2010)

The Department of Geography is hosting their 8th annual Geography Awareness Week November 15-18 on campus in promotion of geographic education in schools and surrounding communities. The theme of this year’s activities is Freshwater and will include a viewing of a documentary series, a guest speaker presentation, and a weekl-ong student poster exhibit.

Film: Cadillac Desert: Mulholland’s Dream

Revealing the facts behind the fiction of Chinatown, Mulholland’s Dream tells the story of William Mulholland, who secretly purchased water rights to the Owens River and then built an aqueduct to “deliver” it to Los Angeles.
