First Monday Supreme Court Preview

The CSULB Legal Studies Program, Department of Political Science, and the Center for First Amendment Studies, are proud to host the fifth annual “First Monday: Supreme Court Preview” event on Monday, October 2 from 5-6:30 PM in SSPA 204.
The Court begins its 2023-2024 term this coming Monday, and there are once again a number of salient and controversial issues on the docket this year including disputes over the use of social media by public officials, challenges to regulations prohibiting firearms possession by individuals under domestic-violence restraining orders, voting rights and redistricting, the scope and power of federal agencies, and possible restrictions on lawsuits under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Come join CLA faculty Alex Lohman, Kevin Johnson, and myself, as we talk through these issues and more, including the recent ethics controversies surrounding the Court, and answer your questions.
