Guest Lecture: Dr. Jose Quiroga

Dr. Jose Quiroga is the co-founder and medical director of the Program for Torture Victims, the first program of its kind in the United States. Dr. Quiroga, a native Chilean, was the personal physician of President Salvador Allende and was in the presidential palace when it was attacked by the military during the 1973 coup. In addition to his pioneering work with torture victims, he has written two books and was awarded the 2009 Award for Socially Responsible Medicine by Physicians for Social Responsibility.
