On Thursday, March 16 at 4:00pm, please join us for a talk by Camille Reiko Acosta entitled “From Hiroshima to Athens: The archaeology of migration and burial” in the Anatol Center. We will have a small reception afterwards with the speaker.
Camille is a PhD Candidate at UCLA. This talk explores archaeology of migrant burials in ancient Greece through the story of a family who moved from Lesbos to Athens in the 4th century BC while also reflecting on how the speaker’s experiences of growing up in a multicultural Japanese-Mexican family in Southern California has shaped her research on the ancient world.
