Liwanag (Light) Film Screening

Please join colleagues of the Department of Asian American Studies, American Studies, Sociology, and the International Studies Program in our campus screening of Liwanag (Light). Produced in collaboration with the Filipino Migrant Center (FMC) and immigrant youth artists, Liwanag is a creative multimedia project highlighting the stories of Filipina frontline workers in Los Angeles during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is an amazing grassroots film that highlights the lives of these courageous women whose labor kept their families and communities afloat while they also organized for social change. This event is sponsored by the CLA Scholarly Intersections Grant.
