Literature in the Age of Social Media
September 28, 2022 @ 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm
Free Food!
Are you curious about how literature is consumed outside of the classroom—how students select books and get recommendations (Booktok? Instabook? etc.). How we can we better connect with them on social media. We have set up this event as an egalitarian interaction, kind of like a town hall, with a few faculty (Susan Carlile, Katherine McLoone, and Amy Desuza-Riehm) having a conversation with students about their extracurricular reading. There will also be a way for people to participate in an anonymous fashion (via a QR code linked to a form–below).
We are hoping that this dialogue will help us to understand our students better, engage them better, and be better professors.
