Denim Day

Wear jeans with a purpose! Denim Day represents a worldwide movement to raise awareness and support survivors of sexual violence. Denim Day was developed after an 18-year-old girl was raped in the 90s in Italy, and the court ruled that because her jeans were so tight, she must have helped the man who assaulted her in removing them. This unjust and uninformed ruling led to women of the Italian parliament to wear jeans to work, and this sparked additional protests that now continue around the world annually on the last Wednesday of April.
NATB will collaborate with WGEC to present a virtual campaign on Instagram to show support for survivors.
