WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28th is DENIM DAY! ?
?WHAT is Denim Day?
Denim Day is a sexual violence prevention and education campaign in honor of Sexual Violence Awareness Month (SAAM).
?WHY denim?
In a 1999 court ruling in Italy, a rape conviction case was overturned with the argument that, because the victim had been wearing tight jeans at the time of the assault, she must have been expressing consent. Denim Day has become a symbol of protest against erroneous and destructive attitudes about sexual assault.
?HOW to show support?
Wear your denim with a purpose, support survivors, and educate yourself and others about sexual assault.
