Risks, Hazards and Security

At CSULB Geography, courses and faculty support research in topics from natural hazards to national and human security, in order to best secure and develop the resilience of nations and communities. The approaches include not only geopolitical and geospatial analysis but also the study of regions across the world. This node orients the department towards preparing students in careers in risk management, Intelligence (public or private sector), diplomacy and the Foreign Service, disaster preparedness and community building at local, national, and international scales.
