Economics Seminar Series: Entrepreneurship and Growth in a Different Social Context: The Case of Bulgaria

March 1 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Economics Department seminar series is back this semester! The first talk of our series begins this Friday, March 1 from 11:00am-12:00pm in SSPA-204. Our speaker will be Dr. Radostina Angelova who will present a paper entitled “Entrepreneurship and Growth in a Different Social Context: The Case of Bulgaria”.

Dr. Angelova is a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Bentley University (Waltham, Massachusetts) for the 2023/24 academic year. She works as an applied researcher in Bulgaria, conducting studies and analyses supporting public policy development. Her research interests are in the fields of economic and regional development, urban development, and human capital (specifically labor market and education policies). She has conducted or managed more than 300 research projects for public institutions at the national and local levels, international organizations, NGOs and business entities.

Her talk will provide insight into how entrepreneurship has evolved in post-communist EU countries, and its implications for economic growth. In addition, she will discuss whether entrepreneurship rises more during times of economic turmoil. Please see the linked abstract for more details.

I look forward to seeing you there for what promises to be an interesting and informative presentation! More information concerning this and other presentations for this semester can be found on the Economics Department website (https://cla.csulb.edu/departments/economics/seminar-series/).
