SIG Event: Radical & Cultural Geographies of Deep Space Nine

Please join the American Studies program on Wednesday, April 17th in SPA 111 at 6:30pm for a talk by Dr. David Seitz. The talk, “Radical & Cultural Geographies of Deep Space Nine,” will celebrate and feature Dr. Seitz recent book, A Different Trek. Co-sponsored by AMST, History, Geography, and the CLA Scholarly Intersections program, this talk will analyze and situate the critical social commentary of the TV show and its allegorical world-building through the lens of cultural geography, Black studies, and feminist and queer studies.
David K. Seitz is a critical geographer of liberal multiculturalism with recurring interests in gentrification, immigration, queer community formation, popular culture, and socialist strategy.
