Amazon.com Services: Amazon’s Global Communications & Community Impact (GCCI) organization invites undergraduate students to apply for a paid 12-week summer internship in Seattle. This is the opportunity you’re looking for if you have a passion for learning about corporate communications (public relations, messaging strategy, employee communications, and much more); a desire to explore and learn what it takes to deliver communications at a global scale; and thorough attention to detail. During your summer internship, your responsibilities may include working with media/journalists, analyzing news coverage, writing company communications, developing content for Amazon news channels (e.g., aboutamazon.com), drafting communication strategy, or supporting company events. AMC Networks: The AMC Networks Communications team is seeking interns to join its team for a 10-week internship. The program is comprised of a 10-week project-based paid internship.  Over the course of 10 weeks, students are immersed in an intensive internship experience working alongside the teams behind AMC Networks’ award-winning content from its networks AMC, BBC America, IFC, Sundance TV and WEtv, and its streaming services AMC+, Acorn TV, Sundance TV, Shudder and ALLBLK.   Within this internship you could be placed on our Corporate Communications and Marketing, Internal Communications or Public Relations team where you will work cross functionally to solve a business problem or help improve an internal process. You will be placed based upon your previous experience, interests and will be determined within the recruitment process.  The intern will consist of a 35-hour workweek based in Santa Monica. Learn more and apply through Workday. Edelman: In the ever-changing arena of public relations, Edelman is looking for creative and intelligent practitioners to join it as an intern this summer. Interns are selected to work in a specific area (Brand, Corporate, Health, Social Impact & Sustainability, Strategy & Planning, Social Strategy, Technology, Creative/Design, Financial Communications (Edelman Smithfield), and Influencer Marketing, among others) for the length of the paid program. In addition to receiving direct mentoring within their capability area, interns will have exposure to other areas of the business to enhance their professional and communication skills. Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences: Become a key player in our team as a social media intern! In addition to celebrating and recognizing excellence in filmmaking through the Oscars, the Academy supports a wide range of initiatives to promote the art and science of the movies, including public programming, educational outreach and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. This remote role is for those with a knack for content scheduling, organization, and a pulse on social media trends, sprinkled with a touch of creativity and humor. Fox Sports: Fox Sports invites sophomore and above to apply for a graphic design internship . Harman: Northridge-based Harman seeks candidates for a digital and social media marketing internship. With leading brands including AKG, Harman Kardon, Infinity, JBL, Lexicon, Mark Levinson and Revel, Harman is admired by audiophiles, musicians and the entertainment venues where they perform around the world. As a member of our team, your primary role will be to work with the digital engagement team on day to day digital and social projects including developing content, asset organization, community management and more – bringing innovative ideas to the table as an integral part of a growing team. Successful candidates for this paid internship must be available from May 20, 2024, through Aug. 9, 2024, and must be able to work 40 hours per week. Los Angeles Sparks: This internship program is a hands-on opportunity for students to build their work experience and learn the behind-the-scenes operations of a WNBA communications team. Interns will participate in all areas of media relations and the many facets of working for a professional sports team including creating and disseminating team press materials, liaising with sports media, community outreach, player appearances, and external communications.  The Walt Disney Company: Disney Entertainment seeks applicants for a digital marketing internship. As an intern, you will: contribute to video content strategy and collaborate with the marketing and production teams to research, pitch, and project-manage video content from conceptualization to publishing across all platforms; assist in content creation including pitching social media concepts, screening movies and series, pulling time codes, and more; and support the team on production shoots, including assisting with pre-production and day-of shoot tasks. The successful candidate is adept in various digital tools, trends, and platforms (TikTok, X, Meta, Snap) and other emerging digital platforms. Warner Bros. Discovery: Multiple marketing, social media and communications internship opportunities are available at the Warner Bros. Discovery offices in the Burbank area. Click the links to reach the detailed descriptions for each internship. The theatrical digital marketing intern will work closely with the talent and influencer team for each film campaign from trailer launch to film release. This role will allow the ideal candidate to be creative and encouraged to pitch ideas as well as be part of the event planning process for film premiers. WB Games interns may support press and influencer/creator campaigns across the Warner Bros. Games portfolio, assist in the social media day-to-day operations, or even help define how the business evolves from a consumer packaged goods approach to marketing games to a live services approach. Insomniac: Do you enjoy dance music? Are you passionate about public relations and record labels? Then you’re in luck! Insomniac Events is seeking a highly motivated and proactive PR intern to join the records team in Los Angeles. Insomniac produces some of the most innovative, immersive music festivals and events in the world.  This is a paid internship and is not a remote position. Sephora: The Employee Engagement & Communications Intern will work with the internal newsroom team to maintain, administer, and create intranet site content, including documents, video, photos, and other related media. The intern also will draft, edit, and publish news content for Sephora’s weekly Take A Beat section of the newsletter, and the intern will coordinate with internal teams and facilities to deliver successful on-site events. J/PR and 20Two Studio: The summer internship program at J/PR and 20Two Studio is a hybrid learning and mentorship experience.  J/PR is a global communications firm that works with some of the best hotels, resorts, and lifestyle brands. Its affiliate agency, 20Two Studio, is a PR and social agency passionate about bold storytelling for lifestyle brands in the travel, hospitality, and wellness industries.  An intern may be assigned to either J/PR or 20Two Studio account teams. Netflix: The UCAN Social Marketing internship at Netflix is an opportunity for the next generation of entertainment-obsessed writers, brand strategists, community managers, and content creators who are eager to master the tools and techniques of social storytelling across multiple social platforms. Over the course of the program, you will learn how to read trends and create content for Netflix fans. This internship is intended for students who already have completed at least one relevant internship. Internships are paid and are a minimum of 12 weeks. Scripps Howard Fund: Until Feb. 1, 2024, the Scripps Howard Fund is putting a call out for students and 2024 graduates who are looking opportunities to exercise their in-depth research, writing and issue reporting skills in smaller newsrooms around the country. The Fund is partnering with the Institute for Nonprofit News, which supports more than 425 news organizations, including the 77-member Rural News Network covering rural America. Four 10-week internships and four 20-week internships are available. Once selected, an intern can apply to the Fund for a grant to help with housing, relocation, and other expenses to support their ability to accept an internship. Arroyo Seco Saints: The Arroyo Seco Saints, a certified 501(c)3 non-profit organization, strive to provide the finest collegiate summer baseball experience in the nation. The Journalism/Media Relations interns will be responsible for telling the story of the Arroyo Seco Saints collegiate summer baseball experience through writing. The intern will write daily game recaps, feature stories, and news pieces on the team. The intern also will write and distribute press releases and will be responsible for all updates and new content for the official Saints website and social media platforms. The Dodgers: The Los Angeles Dodgers offers a number of paid internships in communications. For nearly 60 years, the American Society of Magazine Editors has sponsored the Magazine Internship Program—a ten-week program for college students at magazines in New York and Washington. Since the program was founded in 1967, 2,000 college juniors have worked as ASME interns. The International Radio & Television Society Foundation (IRTS)  is a great organization and I have done one of their faculty fellowship programs. They just opened their 2024 summer student fellowship for applications. It’s a 9-week, all-expense-paid fellowship in New York. You live in a dorm in Manhattan, and they place you in a full-time, paid internship with a top NYT media company. It’s open to all students and you do not need to be radio/TV focused. American Association for the Advancement of Science: The AAAS Diverse Voices in Science Journalism Internship is a paid 10-week summer internship at the Washington, D.C. headquarters of Science magazine. The paid internship also provides for travel to and from the internship site in Washington, D.C. Forbes: Each summer, Forbes selects student reporters to join the Forbes newsroom as its Editorial Intern Class. You will receive support and mentorship to meet professional goals, accelerate your learning and hone your writing and storytelling skills. Paramount: Paramount seeks candidates for a public relations internship. Science News: This award-winning magazine covering all fields of science for a general readership is now accepting applications for its science writing internships. This is a full-time paid internship for the summer based in Washington, D.C. Interns work as full-time science journalists under the guidance of Science News staff. Former Science News interns have gone on to staff positions with the New York Times, the Washington Post, NOVA, ABC television, and the Associated Press, among others. Fresno Bee: The Fresno Bee is hiring a reporting intern for a 10-week paid internship for summer 2024. The Bee expects applicants to understand basic news standards and ethics as well as to the skillset to produce content. Previous experience reporting for a student or professional news publication is a plus. Interns need to report thoroughly, write clearly and grasp the elements of storytelling, recognizing visual components and social connections. Apply through the McClatchy website.

NBC 4: NBC 4 LA offers paid summer internships in news and photography.  Applicants must be willing to work in Universal City.
