Rediscovering the voice of Erwin Schulhoff Virtual Concert Screening
April 22, 2022
Harvard-CSULB Tafelrunde and CSULB GSSA are co-hosting with the Harvard GSAS Choir and the Ziering-Conlon Initiative for Recovered Voices at the Colburn School in Los Angeles on 22. April. The event will be a virtual concert screening where we will hear music by the German-Czech composer Erwin Schulhoff (1894-1942), with an introduction to the composer and his music by three people who have been involved in researching and performing Schulhoff’s works.
Students are encouraged to watch a Tedtalk (linked here) on the Recovered Voices Initiative and their effort to promote the music of composers like Erwin Schulhoff who were suppressed due to Nazi policies.
