Law and the Courts

Stephen Abanise (BA 2008) earned his Masters of Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2010 and his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law in 2014, and his Masters of Health Administration from the George Washington University in 2017.  He worked as an Attorney Advisor to the Social Security Administration in 2016, and is now an attorney for the Internal Revenue Service.

Reema Abboud (BA 2011) is practicing criminal defense and employment law with the law firm of Fakhimi & Associates in Santa Ana.

Flavio Acosta III (BA 2001) earned his law degree at Columbia University in 2004, and is an attorney with O’Melveny A. Myers, LLP, in New York, NY.

Angela Anderson (BA 2011) is graduating this semester from Hofstra University School of Law in New York City, and she is currently a Law Assistant at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in New York.

Alexander Angulo (BA 1998) earned his law degree at McGeorge Law School in 2001, and currently is employed with Rutan and Tucker in Costa Mesa, CA.

Ira Aspiz (BA 1976) is an immigration attorney in Anaheim, specializing in asylum cases.

Richard Bosanko (BA 2011) earned his J.D. from Willamette University, College of Law, in Salem Oregon in 2014.  He passed the Oregon Bar and is an Associate Attorney at Van Ness, Williamson in Salem, Oregon.

Ashlie Brillault (BA 2010) passed the bar and is a criminal defense attorney, Of Counsel for the Law Offices of David Givot and lhe Law Offices of David Borsari.

Fletcher Brown (BA 2005) is practicing law in California.

Taylor Carr (BA 2012) graduated from law school and is employed at the Ventura County DA’s Office.

Kimberly Clark (BA 2007) graduated from Whittier Law School and is now an attorney at the Law Offices of Jonathan Winters in Long Beach, CA.

Ruben Escobedo (BA 2008) earned his J.D., cum laude, from Chapman University in 2011.  He is an Associate Attorney at Lynberg & Watkins, specializing in civil litigation.

Amy Fernandez (MA 2010, BA 2008) earned her J.D. with honors at California Western School of Law in 2016.  She passed the California Bar Exam and works as a legal intern for the California Innocence Project.

Alysse Florez (MA 2014) is working as a Litigation Assistant at a law firm in Century City.

Jamison Gilmore (BA 2015) received his J.D. from Southwestern Law School in May 2018. He is a Judicial Law Clerk at the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Marcellous Glasper (BA 2008) graduated from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, CA, and is now a licensed attorney.

Amanda Greenburg (BA 2003) is an attorney with Khorrami Boucher Sumner Sanguinette, LLP, in Los Angeles, CA.

Matt Gunter (BA 2010) graduated from University of Connecticut Law School, passed the bar, and is practicing law.

Kristin Hallak (BA 2008) graduated from UCLA Law School and is working as an attorney at the Children’s Law Center of California.

Norm Hill (BA 1991) is a Circuit Court Judge in Polk County OR.

Tina (Puente) Hill (BA 1991) is a Deputy District Attorney in Marion County, OR.

Taylor Honrath (BA 2008) is a Legislative Aid for the Office of the Mayor in Long Beach.

Katie Huso (BA 2003) is a civil litigation and insurance defense attorney in Billings, Montana.  She recently became a shareholder at Matovich, Keller & Murphy, P.C.  In 2015, she was selected as a Mountain States Super Lawyers Rising Star in the area of insurance coverage.

Denis Keough (BA 1971) is a Superior Court Judge on the Orange County Superior Court.

Janae Knallay (BA 2012) earned her J.D. in 2015 from the University of San Diego.  She was admitted to the California Bar this past spring and is now a Deputy District Attorney for Kern County.

Jacob Larsen (MA 2008) is working as an associate employment law attorney for Perona, Langer, Beck, Serbin, Mendoza and Harrison, APC in Long Beach, CA.

Alex Lohman (BA 2011) earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law in 2014.  She is Staff Attorney for the Juvenile Advocacy Project of the Legal Aid Society of West Palm Beach, Florida.

Jessica Martinez (BA 2009) earned her J.D. from Yale Law School in 2014.  She is an Associate Attorney at Jenner & Block in New York City.Lisa McCall (Wiley) (BA 2004) earned a J.D. at Whittier Law School in 2006. She is an Associate Attorney with the Law Offices of Dorie A. Rogers, in Orange, CA, and an Adjunct Professor at Whittier Law School.

Ted McNamara (BA 2009) practices law in Miami. He recently judged the final round of the American Collegiate Moot Court Association National Championship.

Kellee Parker (BA 2002) founded her own law firm, the Parker Law Center.

Stephanie Payne (BA 1993) earned a law degree from Chreighton Law School in 1996, and currently is an attorney with Stephanie Payne and Michelle L. Moeller, Attorneys at Law, in Lincoln, NB.

Kevin Poush (BA 2014) received his J.D. from Southwestern Law School in 2017. He is an associate at Ford, Walker, Haggerty & Behar in Long Beach.

Jose Ramos (BA 2006) earned his J.D. from U.C. Berkeley’s Boalt Hall School of Law in May 2018. He is an associate at Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton in Santa Ana.

Jessica Schuh (BA 2012) earned her J.D., summa cum laude at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon in 2016, where she was Note and Comment Editor of the Lewis & Clark Law Review.  She is now an Associate Attorney at Schwabe, Williamson, and Wyatt in Portland.

Franica Tawn (BA 2001) earned her J.D. at U.C. Hastings Law School in 2007, and is a general practice attorney in Lancaster, CA.

Sabrina van der Linden-Gonzalez (MA 2016) is a student in the J.D./Ph.D. program at U.C. Irvine.

Ankineh Zadoorian (BA 2009) graduated from Chapman University School of Law. and is now an attorney at Doumanian and Associates in La Crescenta, CA.
